Reinaldo López was a Cuban artist born in 1934. His work has been offered at auction multiple times, and he passed away in 20141. López studied at the School of Plastic Arts in Matanzas, Cuba, in 1953, under the guidance of painter Roberto Diago2.
Interestingly, López’s artistic legacy extends beyond his own creations. He played a role in the restoration of the iconic Perry Lions in Washington, D.C. These lions, originally designed by sculptor Roland Hinton Perry, flank the Taft Bridge on Connecticut Avenue.
